Frequently Asked Questions
After cleaned, how soon can I walk on my carpet?
It is important to keep feet off of the carpet during the drying process. Your carpet will be safe to walk on in 4 hours. With any form of cleaning the longer you can give it the better. However, we have Hospitals as clients with which We use the dry cleaning method and they walk on it straight away. With Steam Cleaning though we would usually leave you with plastic boots. So if you think you will be walking in and out frequently it may be a good idea to use them to prevent re-soiling.
What if a spot or stain reappears?
This could be due to the type of spot or stain. Deep stains can sometimes surface if they are in the carpet backing.

What method of carpet cleaning will you use on my carpet?
We generally make that decision on arrival, after We inspect your carpet. Some carpets may be better suited to a one cleaning method over the other.

If carpet is Steam Cleaned it re soils much quicker again. Is this true?
This is a fallacy. A properly cleaned and maintained carpet does not soil any quicker after the clean than before. Although it is true that some people have had this experience. The reason for this is that some carpet cleaners, due to not being properly trained or by trying to save themselves a bit of money up front don’t buy themselves the appropriate cleaning and rinsing agents thus do not properly rinse the carpet clean of cleaning solution. It can be likened to washing your clothes and taking them out before the rinse cycle. When dry they will be crunchy and the remaining cleaning solution acts like a magnet attracting soil. Exactly the same thing happens with carpet. If it is crunchy to walk on and if it soils quicker this indicates that your carpet cleaner may not have used a rinsing agent to rinse your carpet clean.

What furniture do you need to move?
We will move your sofas, tables and chairs and your light furniture but not very heavy furniture such as dressers, china cabinets, beds, or pianos. All we ask is that you remove breakable items and memorabilia such as picture frames from the furniture you want to be moved.
Will the price change?
We do not employ “bait and switch” tactics. When you call for an estimate we ask a series of questions that will help determine if there are cleaning requirements that might involve extra charges. If their carpets are very heavily soiled, stained or damaged there may be additional charges, but any additional charges after the initial estimate would require your approval prior to us starting work. Either way, it’s totally up to you.
What sort of cleaning system do you employ?
We employ and specialize in both Hot Water Extraction (Steam Cleaning) and Dry Cleaning methods.
How do you treat pet stains and odor?
Dog and cat urine contains alkaline salt crystals which will absorb moisture out of the air over time. Because of that, pet urine never really dries – it remains sticky forever and eventually becomes a bacterial feeding ground that causes odor, staining, nd discoloration. Mild problems can be handled with a combination of enzyme surface treatments and germicide as well as enzyme injections into the padding. Severe problems will require treatment of the carpet but also typically require pad replacement and floor (slab) treatment as well.
How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
For our Dry Cleaning method drying time is usually between 30 min to 1 hour and for our Steam Cleaning, we usually quote between 8 to 12 hours. Both drying times depend on a few factors such as how soiled the carpet is, how good the airflow is at your residence and how long your carpet pile is. Things you can do to quicken drying time is to leave doors and windows open, use a plug in fan or set you air conditioner on a fan.
Do you provide any guarantees?
As we strive to deliver 100% customer satisfaction, we will perform our services in a meticulous and professional manner. However, if you have any remarks afterwards we will correct any problems.
Do fabric protectors really work?
Fabric protectors won’t prevent your carpet from eventually getting dirty but are designed to protect your carpet from permanent stains and can extend the life of the fabric. Fabric protection works very well if applied properly.
Can you guarantee that you will get all my stains out?
No one can guarantee this for the below-mentioned reasons. There are a wide variety of carpet stains, some common and easy to remove such as general dirt and some food stains. Others stains like Red Wine, Pet Urine, Blood and so on are more difficult. If fact depending on the age of a stain and how it has been pretreated sometimes some of these stains can’t be removed. I’ve seen some home owners panic and use inappropriate chemicals such as Oven Cleaner and Bleach to try to remove their stains other times the chemicals used may not have been so harsh. In events such as this the stain will more than likely be Set and once Set no method or frequency of cleaning can remove it. Other times the carpet can result in a bleach mark, which is actual color loss, of course in this case as well nothing can be done. Generally I advise that the safest thing you can do with any sort of stain is to dilute it first with a bit of Cold water and sop it up after with a clean white cotton towel such as a nappy. If you still have a problem then it’s time to call someone like me. This is especially true for Urine marks. Whilst I can clean and sanitize the area more often than not if someone has treated a urine mark the yellowing won’t come out.
